Q1.  Why was Caliph Haroon-ur-rashid Known and respected for?
Ans. Caliph Haroon-ur-rashid was the ruler of Baghdad. He was known and respected for
his Justic & wisdom.

Q2.  Why did he go through the streets of Baghdad at night?
Ans.At Night he would disguise himself as a common man and go through the streets of Baghdad. He would mingle with the common people in order to gain the first hand knowledge of the difficulties and problems faced by the people in his kingdom.

Q3. What did Qazi say to the Caliph?
Ans. The Qazi Told the Caliph about the dispute between the rich man and the beggar. He asked him to announce a just decision as the case was difficult for him to settle.

Q4.  What was the Dispute between the rich man and the beggar?
Ans.The dispute between the rich man and the beggar was about a horse. They both were fighting and claming the same horse as their property.

Q5. What did the rich man tell the caliph?
Ans.The Rich man told the caliph that when he was riding his horse in the morning. He saw a lame beggar limping on the road who motioned him to stop and asked for a ride uptil
the city gate But on reaching the city gate, the beggar refused to dismount from the horse
and claimed the horse  as his own property.

Q6.  What did the beggar tell the Caliph?
Ans.The Beggar told the caliph that as he was riding his horse in the morning he saw a rich man who was in a hurry and requested him to lend his horse. As the rich man was a
complete stranger him. He gives and asked the beggar to leave as no body believe a beggar
keeping such a fine horse.

Q7.  Why did the beggar refuse to get down from the horse?
Ans.The Beggar refused to dismount from the horse as the wanted to Rob the rich man.

Q8. What did the horse do when the beggar touched it?
Ans.The horse winced to show that it did not like the touch of the beggar.

 

Q9.  How did horse feel when the rich man touched it?
Ans.The horse snorted and neighed with pleasure when it was touched by the rich man.

 

Q10. What did the caliph say to the beggar?
Ans. The Caliph told the beggar that he deserves punishment as he intended to rob a respectable citizen. But later the beggar was pardoned by the rich man and his noble act
pleased everybody in the court.

 

Q11. How the Caliph did discovered the real owner of the Horse?
Ans.The Caliph Ordered the rich man & the beggar to touch the horse one by one,when the
horse was touched by the beggar it winced which shows that did not like the touch of the beggar whereas the horse snorted & neighed with pleasure when it was touched by the rich man in this way the caliph discovered that the real owner of the horse was the rich man.
