Conspiracy against Madrassas not to be tolerated media make negative propaganda against the Madrassas

Karachi
Hanif Jalandhri, Nazim-e-Aala of the Wafaq-ul-Madaris Arabia, has said a conspiracy against Madrassas would be against Islam and Pakistan, and warned the quarters concerned to refrain from promoting “negative propaganda against the Madrassas”.
He was addressing a press conference at the Jamia Binnoria Aalamia Ittehad-e-Tanzeemat-e-Madaris Deeni (ITMD), a conglomerate of five Madrassas — Wafaq-ul-Madaris Arabia Deoband, Tanzeem-ul-Madaris Barelvi, Rabitatul Madaris Jamat-e-Islami, Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al Salafiyah Ahle Hadith, Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al Shayayah Ahle Tashhi — on Saturday.
In order to promote Islam and convey messages to the outside world, he said the stability of Madrassas was indispensable.
The press conference was organised in connection with the raid on a Sohrab Goth Madrassa from where 50 fettered students were recovered a few days back.
In order to strengthen Madrassas, the ITMD will hold Madressah Day on December 23 and the future strategy would be announced on December 19, said Jalandhri.
He criticised the media, especially the electronic media, for portraying a negative picture of Madrassas, and warned that such “controversies” should avoided or else they would be forced to announce a strategy against them.
He linked the survival of Islam with the continued existence of Madrassas, adding that these institutions were not only playing their role in the promotion of Islam but also training people for the improvement of society.
The western masters were creating a negative image of Madrassas, Jalandhri alleged and also held “imperialistic forces” responsible for creating anarchy in the Muslim word.
With regard to the Sohrab Goth’s Madrassa, he said that it had not been affiliated with any association of Madrassa; rather, it was a place for drug addicts.
The students of Madrassas were playing the role of an ambassador for the country and they must not be pushed against the wall, he said.
