Polar Covalent Bold
Covalent bonds between two different atoms in which partial positive and partial negative poles are formed are called “polar covalent bond”.
When a covalent bond is formed between two atoms of different electronegativity then the shared pair of electron spends more time near the atom with greater electronegativity, therefore, slightly negative charge appears on that atom while slightly positive charge appears on that atom with lesser electronegativity.
Non Polar Covalent Bond
A covalent bond formed between two atoms of same electronegativity is called “lion polar covalent bond”.
Due to the same electronegativity the shared electrons can not pulled by any atom, therefore no charge appears on atoms and non polar covalent bonds are formed.
