Law College Convocation to be Held on December 24 (December 20, 2011 )





The Convocation of Law College University of Peshawar for the students of sessions 2004 to 2010 is going to be held on December twenty four this year. A meeting of the convocation committee chaired by Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Azmat Hayat Khan was held in this connection to finalize the arrangements for the ceremony.

The chair of the committee decided to invite parents of the students for convocation so that they may share the event with their kids on the day. It was also decided to invite persons from the judiciary and legal fraternity as well.

Principal Law College Prof. Dr. Adnan Sarwar Khan said that convocation for six different sessions would be held for which around three hundred law graduates of the session 2004 to 2010 have applied. The topers of the same session would be awarded with medals as well, he added.

The meeting was attended by senior Dean Prof. Dr. Muhammad Riaz, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Naeem ur Rehman and faculty members of the University.

Politically motivated’ promotion at FCE Federal College of Education resented

The politically motivated inductions and promotions are the part and parcel of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government to please its blue-eyed persons.

Posting of a grade-18 middle school Vice Principal/Headmistress Dr Tanvir Kayani to the Federal College of Education (FCE) Head of the Master Degree Programme (grade-19) is one of such examples. The authorities breached the law to help Dr Tanvir Kiyani get her desired position. FCE is a close cadre where the promotions take place within the college according to seniority.

delegation of Balochistan Residential College Loralai students call on CJP




QUETTA A delegation of Balochistan Residential College Loralai students called on Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Ahmed Chaudhry at Supreme Court on Tuesday. According to a handout, the 40-member delegation headed by Prof Kaleemullah, Mohammad Suleman and Abdul Manan were received by the Supreme Court staff. The Chief Justice while welcoming the delegation, said that the students were the future of country and they must work hard to serve their country better in future. The visiting delegation also attended the court proceedings. Earlier, they visited court building, court rooms, ceremonial hall, auditorium hall and monument.The news.

Selected candidates will be issued call letters by concerned colleges for interview
All admissions are provisional. Admission of selected candidate will be cancelled :
If any document / information provided by the candidate is found false / fake or fabricated at any stage
If it is found at any stage that the candidate was not entitled for admission according to the Admission Policy of the Government of the Punjab
If the candidate fails to report for admission and deposit fee on due date.
If the candidate is found medically unfit.
The candidates admitted against both open merit as well as reserved seats can only avail one seat by their own choice. They will have to surrender the other seat, by submitting an affidavit on Rs.20/- stamp paper, within 07 days of the display of Selection List. In case, the candidate fails to give his/her choice within given time limit, the Admission Board reserves the right to finalize his/her admission according to his/her merit and preference given in his/her Admission Form. No application against the decision of the Admission Board shall be entertained afterwards
Complaint, if any, against the Selection List may be lodged within 15 days of the notification. No complaint will be entertained thereafter
The Chairman Admission Board shall be competent to rectify any error or omission found in the Selection List.

Forman Christian College 147th Convocation 2011




LAHORE: The Forman Christian College (FCC) held its 147th convocation at the campus on Saturday, the chief guest of the event being FCC patron and Punjab Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa.
The convocation was the ninth since the FCC became a chartered university in 2004. Degrees were conferred to 174 students on the convocation, among which 51 were of BA Honours, 72 of BSc Honours, 8 of BSc Honours Business, 10 of BSc Honours Computer Science, 9 of MAS Economics, 10 of MPhil Biotechnology, 4 of MPhil Chemistry, and 10 of PG Advanced Diploma in English Language Teaching.

Pakistan College of General Practitioners launched




on Saturday launched Pakistan College of General Practitioners at its Ojha campus. DUHS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Hameed Khan while speaking during the launching ceremony at Dow Medical College Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, said that the aim of the college is to prepare general practitioners and specialists for the social and sustainable change in the practice of general medicine. The programme has been planned for the competency of general practitioners for education leadership like adult learning, instructions, assessment, curriculum, programme evaluation and education research.
He said that the duration of college programme is about two years and it would also adopt various structured programmes for local needs. Dr Khan said that the college would offer diploma, membership or fellowship status to successful participants after assessment as per schedule. Dr. Muhammad Yayha of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners said at the ceremony that trained GPs would be able to meet all the objectives. He said: “The main objective of the programme is to identify academic areas of gaps which need further improvement to maintain evidenced-based change for follow up and adoption.” He elaborated that General Practitioners GPs would also evaluate process of students assessment in order to make valid and reliable decisions for their choice to be a GP. Forman Christian College holds 147th convocation outstanding students awarded



LAHORE: The Forman Christian College (FCC) held its 147th convocation at the campus on Saturday, the chief guest of the event being FCC patron and Punjab Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khosa.
The convocation was the ninth since the FCC became a chartered university in 2004. Degrees were conferred to 174 students on the convocation, among which 51 were of BA Honours, 72 of BSc Honours, 8 of BSc Honours Business, 10 of BSc Honours Computer Science, 9 of MAS Economics, 10 of MPhil Biotechnology, 4 of MPhil Chemistry, and 10 of PG Advanced Diploma in English Language Teaching.
Awards were also distributed to Intermediate students who had produced outstanding results in the board exams. The Maulana Syed Farzand Ali Medal for securing the highest marks in Arts/Humanities was awarded to Muhammad Safi Aslam, The Allama Inayatullah al-Mashriqi Medal for first position in General Science went to Abrar Aslam, Muhammad Rafay Khan Niazi won the Dr K C Chaterjee Medal for the highest score in Pre-Medical group, and Mian Muhammad Waqas received the Dr M I D Chugtai Medal for securing the first position in Intermediate Pre-Engineering. Also, Dr Lubna Amir from the Department of Chemistry received the Outstanding College Teacher Award.
An honourary doctorate was conferred on Anwar Pervez. Anwar migrated to the UK in 1952 and from humble origins built up Bestway, one of the largest food wholesalers in the UK. Despite the success, he has not forgotten his roots and has worked tirelessly to improve conditions in Pakistan through philanthropy and business development.
Khosa said that the four-year BS programme was a pace setter in the history of higher education in the Pakistan. He said that educational institutions had to encourage the students to explore and research new fields that were of their interest. He concluded by emphasising on the importance of education in creating a peaceful, tranquil and tolerant society. At the end of the convocation address, the governor was also presented with a college plaque by the rector.
Separately, the rector summarised the progress the university had made since its denationalisation. The student body had increased by 94 percent, the faculty by 86 percent of which 50 percent held PhD degrees. In addition to the new degree programmes, the rector highlighted the renovation of existing buildings and construction of two new buildings.
